Responsibilities of the Editorial Board of IJMAAS
International Journal of Microbiology and Applied Sciences (IJMAAS) is an institution-based peer-review journal hosted by the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
IJMAAS Editorial Board Members are active participants in their various fields. IJMAAS Board serves the research community by providing efficient, robust and constructive handling of papers. Members believe that the true value of research often exceeds its perceived value and that entire research community benefits from the publication of scientifically sound, reproducible research.
IJMAAS do not make editorial decisions on the basis of the interest of a study or its likely impact. Studies must be scientifically valid and research articles should include a scientifically sound research question, the use of suitable methods and analysis, and adherence to standards relevant to the research field.
The primary responsibility of IJMAAS Editorial Board Members is to manage the peer review process. Editorial Board Members are responsible for the scientific quality of the manuscripts that they handle. Members adhere to the ethos, editorial standards, policies and scope of the IJMAAS Journal and ensure that manuscripts are handled efficiently and appropriately.
Manuscript handling
Board members make decisions on the basis of the peer reviewers’ reports and on individual assessment. Members support the ethos of the IJMAAS and ensure that all decisions are based on scientific validity and not perceived importance or impact.
